Blast from the past!

As you may know, we at Calrec have been designing and building audio consoles for longer than most. We also like vintage equipment, even if it is not made by us! It is not often that we talk about our competitors on this site –  in fact I don’t think we have ever done it – but when I spotted this this article via @Poweracoustic on Twitter (thanks Paul!) I made a decision to break this rule.

The article is about the restoration of a vintage console by a little known Austrian broadcast manufacturer called WSW. I’ve had a brief look on the net and can find very little information about their history, apart from them being part of Seimens at some point. If anyone can enlighten us with more facts about them then that would be fantastic!

Anyway, the article by Brian Bender who has bought the console makes a great read and you can also read Part 2 which takes us through the next stage of his journey if you enjoyed the first part!
