Dig deep to enjoy real Aural Pleasure
Calrec Events, Featured, Industry News — By Colin on August 28, 2012 10:18Though the weather in the South East corner of the UK says different, today feels like the first day of Autumn, which means our thoughts will, slowly, inexorably, soon turn to … what to buy the audiophile in our life for Christmas!
If speakers are on the shopping list and you’re on a budget, you might consider stumping up £20 for a pair of Krator Neso 4s. If there’s a bit more in your account – actually, make that A LOT more – Hart Audio’s D&W Aural Pleasures (pictured) could be what you’re looking for.
Each has three speaker driver units; a main driver for midrange and bass and a high frequency unit at the center for the treble. A super tweeter squeezes maximum high frequency goodness out of the latest high-resolution audio formats. The speakers’ beautiful bass frequencies are the result of some proprietary Hart Audio technical wizardry.
Here are the essential technical details to remember, by the way:
- Sensitivity 97db 1w@1mtr
- Impedance 5 Ohms
- Frequency range 47Hz- 37Khz +-4db & 39Hz-47Khz +- 10db
But the most essential thing to bear in mind is these speakers’ exclusivity. 99 pairs finished in Bronze are selling for £40,000 ($62,000), 5 pairs finished in Sterling Silver are available for £200,000 ($313,000), and there’s one pair coated in in 100Kg of 18ct Gold that are yours for a cool £3,000,000 ($4,700,000).
We’d love to hear from anybody who’s had the pleasure of listening to their favourite music on these monsters. As long as it doesn’t pose a security risk, we’re also very keen to find out who bagged the gold ones!
