NEP putting on a Bow Tie
Featured, Outside Broadcast — By Kevin on May 2, 2012 14:15Truck behemoth NEP has announced a further expansion today.
NEP, Calrec’s biggest single customer worldwide, has acquired UK based Bow Tie TV Limited. The deal comes after a long-standing relationship between the companies, and widens NEP’s UK services into Contract Management and Digital Media for Government and Principal Authorities.
The purchase follows recent expansion by NEP in the UK over the last few years with the acquisition of Roll to Record and Omni Television (now NEP Cymru). Globaly, NEP has over 45 HD trucks, nine SD trucks, and were responsible for building the first mobile unit dedicated to love 3D TV back in 2009.
Steve Jenkins, Managing Director, NEP UK said:
This acquisition was a natural expansion of our UK business strands. It creates an exciting blend of specialist broadcast media services with the scale, resourcing and management of NEP. Bow Tie has an excellent pedigree in a unique sector of our market.
Bow Tie is a very well established OB outfit, having covered various sports for the likes of Sky and Setanta. Bow Tie Television has also been involved in the broadcasting of the UK Parliament since televising began there in 1989, and has been the principal contractor since 2001.
Oh, and we’ve been meaning to say this, but while we are on the subject of NEP, check out their blog here, including this post on Audio Signals by NEP’s General Manager George Hoover. It’s good, wholesome stuff.
