Eutelsat began broadcasting 4K pictures over satellite early in January, to help production companies, channels, rights owners and kit manufacturers to get used to the idea. ATEME is helping out on the video compression side – 50fps progressive MPEG4, transmitted at 40Mb/s as four Quad HD streams.

New stereo to 5.1 upmixer plugin
Software developer ADL (Audiotech Digital Limited) has this week the pre-release of a new product, Penteo 3 Pro, which they claim can take any stereo source and convert the signal into a “perfect” 5.1 mix, with:
