Director Ridley Scott’s latest science fiction film ‘Prometheus’ has met with mixed reactions from critics and a public that has such fond memories of ‘Alien’.

While aficionados of ‘Alien’ may argue the toss over the relevance of ‘Prometheus’ to the original, it’s hard to deny that the film is a spectacular technical achievement.

Here, the sound team, including Supervising Sound Editors Mark Stoeckinger and Victor Ennis, Sound Re-recording Mixers Ron Bartlett and Doug Hemphill, Sound Designers Ann Scibelli and Alan Rankin, and Sound Effects Researcher Charlie Campagna talk to The SoundWorks Collection about their work

From fizzy drinks and Seventies sweets (candy if you’re reading this outside the UK), to large exotic birds, the team captured and manipulated an unusual mixture of sounds to create a complex alien soundscape.
